MEN AND COUNSELLING?
Group conducted by: Adam Goward Dip. Couns MBACP
Are men more reluctant than women to seek help from a counsellor?
Is there a stigma attached to emotional distress/mental health?
Is seeking help a sign of weakness?
How does telling someone else my issue help me?
Counselling is really a women’s thing right?
What does the counsellor do to me?
How long does it take?
Have you ever thought about seeing a counsellor or wondered what counselling is about? I will be running a group session open to men only, where the aim will be for me to answer any questions about counselling that you may have. Above are just some questions that could come up, though I would encourage you to ask whatever you like, I also welcome you to share your views as well. While this is not primarily intended as group therapy, though this could develop, some may wish to disclose personal information; I will ask that all attending agree to a group confidentiality contract. Duration will be an hour to an hour and a half, depending on numbers, small groups of 4 to 6 are expected.
Day and Time: Thursday 6.30pm to 8.00pm
Venue: Resilience, Garden Suite, The Old Mill House, Mill Lane, Uckfield TN22 5AA
Once I have enough interest I will contact you to confirm the start date.
